Violets are blue

Now, for the second poem in our series of horribly amazing poetry:

My Cat Has Fleas

My cat is chewing on her butt;
It makes me think she is a nut.

I try to drown the fleas in spray;
They jump and shout and just yell “Hey!”

I try to drown the fleas in powder;
they eat it like it’s fine clam chowder.

I try to drown the fleas in gas;
that really burned my kitty’s a**.

video shoot

So I told you guys that we were doing a little video shoot Friday night. Here are some pics I took along the way.

This was my backpack before I left the apartment. It just struck me as funny. I had a frying pan in my backpack. Who else gets to say that because of their job they carried a frying pan in a backpack?

My crew setting up. I use the word “my” loosely because the guy in the white shirt doesn’t exactly go to church here. Although he’ll probably work here someday. I keep pretending in my mind that someday I will get to hire a dream team of creative people. So I have a list going…

Tim got very creative with our lighting. He’s basically the man.

James (in the blue shirt) is my video guy. He is on Travis‘ blogroll.

Eventually we needed some cracked eggs, so we cooked them and had dinner!

yummmm.

The shoot was a blast and we had lots of help with Tim, James, and Ruth being the awesome people that they are.

I can’t wait to show you the video :)

Face In Hole

I am sure this site will bring me hours of entertainment.

Here are some of my friends (click the pic to get to their blogs):

gorgeous

I don’t go to a churchy church so I haven’t seen anything like this in a while.

I’m singing in a wedding on Saturday and we had rehearsal last night. This place is gorgeous. It’s in the historic district of Lakeland and it’s actually one block over from our first apartment. Back in the hood. Word to your mother.

Sorry that’s not bigger.

I’m singing with an organ!

That tiny lady is fierce. She was the accompanist at the college I sang at.  I think she still works there.

This one is the balcony.

Pretty cool to see some old school stuff every once in a while.

Did I mention the stained glass windows?

I’m psyched. And nervous.

I can’t remember the last wedding I did. But don’t worry, ’cause after this one I still have 2 more to go this summer.

WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?!

untitled.

Ok, so I need to know if this picture is too abstract.

Can you tell what it is?

ink

Mike got some more ink done last week.

It looks pretty sweet, I’m not going to lie. I’m glad that tattoo is almost finished, since the artist is moving to Miami.

So we ended Comfortable a few weeks ago

In case you missed it, here is my interpretation :

heroes

I’ve heard there’s a good show about them on TV. Lots of people have heroes. Usually they are people who are larger than life: Martin Luther King, Jesus, Buddha, etc. The famous, the interesting, the controversial.

Yesterday was a horrible day for me. I came to work on 3 hours sleep because I was behind from being sick. I was crying all day because of a family situation.  I had appointments set up to decorate the sanctuary (although I had no real plan). It had to get done, and I needed to be here, and I was miserable.

This is where the heroes come in. The following pictures show my co-workers and some amazing volunteers (that don’t even attend all the time) stepping up to help. They really came through for me and it’s one of those things that I can’t really describe, you just had to be here.

Come see the final product. It is freaking phenomenal and it wouldn’t have happened without all the help.

PS– you get a preview if you come to night of worship this Friday at 7!!!

tat2s

My superhottie hubby is getting a coverup done on his arm.

Stage 1:

This is the outline with some shading over the original Phoenix tattoo. The cover up is a stained glass window featuring St. Michael kicking Satan’s arse. You can see the inspiration here.

The stained glass has what will be a brown frame and it continues to the underside of Mike’s arm. They’re saving the color on that for last. Ohhh it’s gonna hurt so good.

I can’t remember which sitting this was, but Trevor started adding color. It looked really great at this point, but we had no idea how awesome it would turn out after another sitting.

It’s getting there. Slowly but surely. This last picture is after a total of 16 hours of work, with at least 3 sittings left to go.

Do you have any ink?
