What’s with today, today?

That’s one of my favorite movie quotes from Empire Records, one of my all time favorite movies. My best friend and I watched it countless times together in high school…she introduced me to it and it stuck. If you know me, you know this is kind of a big deal ’cause I don’t really like movies all that much.

Anyway, I really loved the sound track from it. I still listen to that sound track almost 10 years later, and I often find myself humming the songs randomly. Especially the Gin Blossoms, ‘Til I Hear it From You.

Do you guys have any movie sound tracks that impacted you? Or maybe a song from a movie?

The soundtrack from Dirty Dancing, particularly Patrick Swayze’s dulcid tones on “She’s Like the Wind” – it brings a tear to my eye . . .

Apollo 13. I feel like I could tackle a bear with my bare hands when I hear that music as they approach the earth not knowing if they will make it!!!!

    So inspiring.

I really dont have a sound track, but I do have a movie that when I was a teen I could repeat word for word… My friends and I watched it so many times we memorized every word… We couldnt remember algebra, but we knew every word of Fast Times At Ridegmont High… That was forever ago— 26 years ago that movie came out. Wow! Funny thing is that the vans shoes that Spikoli played by Sean Penn were those checker board ones and the kids now days think that they are cool and they are some new fad… That cracks me up. Yep, good ol Spikoli, and what about Mr Hand? Great now I have that stuck in my head. Thanks alot Emily! :)

I think my favorite has to be Gross Pointe Blank – classic 80’s songs and the movie is just one of my favorite movies of all times! I hear a lot of these songs on commercials now and I flash back to the movie – it’s awesome.
