Gardasil
New results are out about the controversial cervical cancer vaccine.
As of June 30, 2008, there have been 9,749 Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reports of adverse events following Gardasil vaccination. Of these, 6 percent were deemed serious. The adverse event reports included 20 deaths, as well as reports of a rare neurological condition called Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
Geez guys. I don’t know much about medicine, but that sounds bad to me.

I thought from the begining that getting this shot was a bad idea. They clearly state on their material that this MIGHT help prevent cervical cancer, but there is no guarentee. If people are dying, it’s clearly not worth the risk.

My daughter got the shots… The worst part was the injection hurts and she actually cried… But, we have not seen any other side effects. After further investigation, if I had to do it over, I may not have??? I think its one of those things where you want to protect your kids, and you have the doctor insisting on it to “protect” her.. From what I have read, most issues are caused from unprotected sex– so really the verdict is out on this one. Just like the chicken pox vacine- you want to protect your kids…
