Strip2Clothe
Virgin Mobile is doing this Blank2Clothe campaign, you fill in the blank with whatever you want to do: “Skydive2Clothe, Yodel2Clothe, Bark2Clothe, or Contort2Clothe,” etc. They’re making donations based on texting and number of videos watched, etc. Well, some people are doing “strip2clothe” and submitting videos of themselves stripping.
Some of them are 14 year old girls.
Virgin Mobile must’ve taken them down, ’cause I can’t find them anymore, but I saw them.
It was disturbing.
You can see when I search “blank2clothe” the original url was strip2clothe, so you know I’m not making this up.
Interesting.

You’re right, the original campaign was “strip2clothe.” It was set up so that it donated money to a clothless teen if you 1) loaded a strip video, and 2) everytime it’s was viewed by 5 more poeple… encouraging people to view the strips as well.
Companies like the National Network For Youth and American Eagle were big supporters. As soon as people started sending e-mails about it being bad to encourage youth to strip- the National Network For Youth pulled their support… fast. The leader of this Virgin Mobile campaign was intervied saying that he never intended to have younglings “striping”… not really sure how that works since “Strip” was in the title.
I was appalled. Litterally appalled. I am encouraged to see that they have at least taken the focus away from striping, and not allowing kids who might still choose to “strip2clothe” upload those videos.
Props for coming up with a unique and fresh idea to get people involved, but they just crossed the line.
I bet you cam guess how I feel about this!!!
