Fat Camp // 2

I told you in that last post that doing fat camp was going to make me cuss, and it turns out that I am prescient, because I CUSSED.

We had to take Puma to the vet yesterday because she started limping after I kicked her after she was playing while we were at the dog park. I know that poms have trouble with their knees, but she just looks so pitiful limping around and looking up at me like, “Mommy, what are you going to do about this? SAVE ME!”
So 77 dollars later, she has some pain medicine and we have the promise that “this will eventually lead to surgery.”

Anyway, while we were sitting in the dog doctor’s office, I noticed the scale that they weighed Puma on (it’s a table actually). After some quick mental calisthenics I realized there are probably dogs that weigh more than me so I hopped up on there. Hey it’s better than having to do it in Publix where people can walk up behind you and yell things like “no livestock (glares at Scottie).”

And I’ll be &^$%#^ if I didn’t gain a freaking pound. I GAINED A POUND. Me. I used to be able to THINK about losing weight and I’d lose it. I cut my portion sizes, I EVEN EXERCISED ONCE.  I took a pregnancy test to make sure that wasn’t it (it wasn’t. Sorry dad.). I kind of hoped it was because then I wouldn’t have to face the reality that I am gaining weight and I am not 18 anymore and I can’t just think “gosh, I wish those jeans weren’t so tight” and BAM they fit better a week later.

“Hi, my name is Chubby, my momma calls me chubby…”

I am distraught.

I am getting old.

I am going to have to start working out.

I need a cookie.
Week number two weigh in: 128.4

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHA!!!!
When I got married I blamed Ginny for shrinking my pants.
    35 pounds and 3 sizes later……
BTW, kicking the dogs relieves stress but causes excessive weight gain. Remember Jabba the Hut?

I don’t understand completely how fat camp works . . . do you go there to gain weight? Because, I had been reluctant to sign up for it, but if that’s the case, I mean, I can’t go wrong . . .

    DON’T KICK YOUR DOG ANYMORE!!!!

Well, one note to throw out there… different scales read differently. If you’re gonna do a weigh in you need to do it on one scale and stick with it.

I’m not sure it makes you feel any better, but I’m right there too… trying to lose weight and barely having it tick off… if it ticks off at all. i need to move to lakeland so we can work out together.

Hi! I’m Mike’s cousin. I read both of your blogs when I have some extra time. Very entertaining. Anyway, F the scale. It will just make you crazy. I’m a professional dancer and they are always on my ass about my weight and I think if I weighed myself I would jump out the window. haha Just exercise and eat healthy (don’t eat past 8) and it will make you feel good about yourself. You guys should come to Philly so that I can meet you!! :-)
